What is sustainable about this look?

  • The Cross My Heart black sweater and Cozy Mesh Long Sleeve Tee white knit mesh top use factory overstock yarn from local Seattle companies.

  • The Sweet Side Pant is made of upcycled linen fabric bought second hand, combined with a printed viscose.

  • The Cozy Mesh Long Sleeve Tee is undyed. The linen was dyed with a non-toxic dye.

  • The viscose side panel is digitally printed, using less ink and fabric waste than conventional printing.

  • The knit tops stretch for fit flexibility, adjusting to body shape and size fluxuations.

  • The pant expands and contracts for fit flexibility by using smocking and a slide buckle instead of elastic made of synthetic materials.

What is sustainable about this look?

  • The Cross My Heart Vest and Diana Skirt are knitted from 100% Oekotex certified wool from Suedwolle Group.

  • Machine knitting is a low waste production technique.

  • Wool is a natural material which can decompose under the right circumstances. It doesn’t need frequent washing, saving on water and greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Skirt has knitted drawstring instead of elastic made of synthetic materials

  • The Dream Smock Sleeve Tee with puff sleeve is made of a nylon/spandex mesh. The fabric was bought second-hand. The top uses low-waste cutting and sewing.

  • All pieces are knit with stretch for fit flexibility, adjusting to body shape and size fluxuations. Ideally, this will allow for longer wear.

What is sustainable about this look?

  • The Tree Goddess Dress is made of silk, and the Dusk Walk vest is 100% wool, natural fibers which can decompose under the right conditions.

  • The dress fabric is digitally printed, using less ink and fabric waste than conventional printing.

  • The dress’ tunic style with self-fabric belt and sliding buckle is zero waste and fit flexible, adjusting to your body shape and size fluxuations.

  • Em’s Pant is made of upcycled linen fabric bought second hand, dyed with non-toxic dye.

  • The pant expands and contracts for fit flexibility by using interior lacing with adjustable buttons.

  • All trims are natural materials, avoiding zippers or elastic made of synthetic materials.

What could be even better?

  • The black sweater is made of 70% wool and 30% acrylic. The acrylic yarns are likely to shed microfibers which can pollute water sources and end up in the food chain. Washing less frequently with low agitation and cold water, and using a washing machine filter can reduce harm.

  • Using viscose that is PEFC or FSC certified for sustainable forestry.

  • Using a low-water dyeing technique for the pant.

What could be even better?

  • Using a recycled wool

  • Using a mulesing free and/or Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified wool to ensure animal welfare, good farming practices, and biodiversity.

  • Using a recycled nylon without spandex as single fibers are easier to recycle. Spandex tends to wear out sooner than nylon so eliminating it will also increase the clothing’s lifespan.
