SMART CLOTHING AND HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN
This project centered around the use of smart textiles to create awareness. Working in a four-person group, we decided to build awareness of emotions by expressing them outwardly. We built a prototype using an Adafruit Circuit Playground and Microsoft MakeCode. LED lights were connected to the circuit board using thread braided to enhance the conductivity. The dress displays yellow as the default representing neutrality, red when shaken representing anger, blue when in darkness representing sadness, and purple with loud noises representing fear. The group proposed that the prototype could be further developed for therapy purposes.
